My mom caught me with a myspace once and totally flipped. I still want one and i don't know the best way to ask her. what should i do?

I had a MySpace for a while. Unfortunately, my (now ex) boyfriend made some...improper comments...on it. My father found out, and he made me delete it...and I didn't. I kept it for another 5 months. I just delete it a few days ago. Getting to the point? MySpace isn't all it's cracked up to be. But, if you really want to keep it, I agree. Show your Mom what it is that you actually put on it. If she likes the idea, put your age as 14 so only your friends can view your site. Tell her about all the privacy settings. Get her to UNDERSTAND the site. Whatever you do, do NOT pull the childish, "But all my friends have it!!"!!

If she said no there is probably a reason. Ask her for the reason, tell her that you will be responsible and not post any personally revealing information about yourself (your home town/school/ real full name/real age) and tell her that you will let her have a copy of the address (URL) so she can look at it randomly whenever she wants.

Then do those things.

Im certain your mom has your best interests at heart and wants to keep you safe from internet pervs. but if you approach her maturely with your reasons of wanting a page and show her the type of page your friends have or that you want to build, she shouldn't have any objections.

It depends on how old you are. If you're under 14, then I can see why your mom was freaking out.

If you're over 14, then there should be no problem. Try asking her again and also ask her why she was so mad the first time you got a myspace.
Since you never asked for permission, this will be a bit difficult. You can tell your mom that she will be able to check your profile continously when she wants, that means you will have to let her know your log in information, I think this is the only way you can get her to say yes.

Or another great idea is show her this question, she will know you are serious!

Tell her that you can make your myspace private to only the friends you accept...by the friend request. Explain to her that you'll keep your info on the downlow...and explain to her that you know the dangers of sharing to much info. Tell her you'll be mature about it, and that you just really want one! quit whining about myspace and do something else with your pathetic life.
pursuade her to make a myspace account so she can check up on you. thats what some of my friend's parents do, it might be a little wierd but as long as they know how safe it is or can be, they will eventually understand that myspace isn't that dangerous.
tell her it's like friendster.. and it's not a bad site. unless u use it that way.. tell here some crap like it's great for new alternative bands.. and if she still doesn't give in.. tell her she can have the password..

or just sign up when not at home.. and don't let her know.
If your mom is trying to stop you from posting up pictures and trying to meet people you don't know, it's probably because you're too young to begin with. Listen to your mom. She could just take the computer away completely if she wanted to and it's probably a good idea.
Promise you will only talk to people you know personally and not use it for anything inappropriate.

Does she know the process and how safe it can REALLY be? Maybe all she needs is a tutorial from you! If she still says no, just wait until you're of age. MySpace will be there until the end of the world!
Ask your mom if you would still be allowed to have a myspace as long as she monitors it. Tell her that she can check it everyday and make sure everything is alright and you are not talking to strangers. If she is still afraid about strangers looking at your profile then tell her you can set it to private. (all you have to do is change your birthdate to making you 14 years old). Try to assure your mom that you are only using myspace as a way to talk to friends and people at your school. If she doesn't want you to post pictures of yourself online, then post an image of something of your personality or something. Hope this helps!
